The Jamaican Pentateuch Movement present their new single, Punchinella, the second release from the forthcoming Chapter XVIII, following on from the single entitled Crime. The young and promising band from Kingston reveal this new track from what will be their second album after the release of Genesis (2012) and the EP Chapter V (2015).

Punchinella is a clear proof of the exceptional quality of Jamaican music being produced now. The single is produced by The DrumKeys, Peter Kongz Samaru (drums) and Paris Dennis (keyboards), members of Protoje’s Indiggnation band, alongside the talented musicians Kevin Zuggu Patterson (guitars), Danny Bassie (bass) and Lamont Monty Savory (guitars).

The track is reminiscent of the sound of late 80s Jamaican dancehall with a modern twist. The music and lyrics, that tell the tale of a man looking for his companion after hearing rumors about her alleged infidelity, are the work of Kevor ‘Var‘ Williams, singer and co-founder of the Pentateuch Movement. The single was mixed by Gregory Morris and mastered by Chris Athens, both of whom have been the creators of several Grammy Awards winning productions.

Punchinella is now available on iTunes and all other digital platforms and will also be on Chapter XVIII.
