Sister Julie presents her new single Love & Unity. Produced by Jamaican Jubba White of White Stone Productions, the song is a direct reflection of the Portland singer’s own belief system.

Dramatic roots reggae instrumentation serves as a steadfast vehicle for Sister Julie’s social commentary, which she builds on her experience as a children’s teacher and her observation of people from the anthropologist’s perspective. The lyrics address the commonality of basic human needs and aspirations while shining an unapologetic spotlight on the divisive tactics of corrupt government systems.

An organ solo by Theodore Bernard lends a cinematic air to the pressing aesthetic of the song, which is accompanied by a video clip directed by Jubba White himself.

Love & Unity is Sister Julie’s first single following the release of her debut album Heart Feel It last August, and is available on digital platforms. The video clip can be seen on the artist’s YouTube channel.
