Sun Sooley is undoubtedly one of the major African reggae artists based in Europe. His career began in 1995 in his motherland of Senegal, where he soon reached popularity with the band Jant Bi, achieving unprecedented sales among the Senegalese hip-hop movement. As an artist, he stands as true international ambassador of Senegalese reggae, with his songs written in English, French and his native language Wolof. Sun Sooley carries his culture, warmth, and positivity through his music, while maintaining a humanist and universalist philosophy.
