Pre-sale now open
The Slovenian organisers of the Overjam International Reggae Festival are already working on the next edition and announce a date change. The next edition will take place in July 2018, from Monday 9th to Saturday 14th. The location remains unchanged and it will once again be held in the gorgeous Tolmin (Slovenia) and for those of you who are impatient the pre-sale is already live.
The sixth edition saw some 15,000 people in attendance from 25 different countries from around the world; 100 shows with more than 300 vocalists, musicians and DJs; 3 stages of 20 hour a day music for 4 days solid. These are just a few of the numbers which amounted to this new festival’s huge success this August.
Overjam, as usual, took place on the banks of the Soča and Tolminka rivers, a special location that this year welcomed more than 3,000 people per day from Italy, Austria, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland, Serbia, Ireland, Macedonia, Faroe Islands, Sweden, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Israel, Portugal, Finland, Afghanistan and Barbados.
Highlights from this year included Alborosie’s performance alongside Schengen Clan, Ky-mani Marley, who, in addition to paying tributes to his father, took the opportunity to present some unreleased material. Jamaican veterans Don Carlos and Freddie McGregor showed the youngsters how it’s done; Manudigital teamed up with Joseph Cotton, and not to mention the many sound-system sessions on the Red Stage featuring crews from France, Italy, UK, Slovenia and the United States.
