August 15th-18th with Alborosie, Israel Vibration, Queen Ifrica and Junior Kelly

The Overjam International Reggae Festival is less than two weeks away! Everything is ready for this eighth edition, which takes place from 15th to 18th of August in Tolmin (Slovenia), on the banks of the Soča river.

More than 40 international artists have been announced, including Alborosie & Shengen Clan, Israel Vibration, Queen Ifrica, Junior Kelly, Ward 21, Zion Train, Cali P, Lion D and Raphael. The beach stage  will welcome many sound system sessions from some historical friends of Overjam along with new additions. A rich beyond musical programme comprises the usual University meetings, courses and workshops and the Overjam4Kidz children’s area on Friday 16th and Saturday 17th. There will also be a market and a wide range of cuisine on offer.

This year, during the day it will be possible to choose from nine different workshops held on the river beach from 11am to 6pm.  These include the slackline together with a Malta crew, meditation with Tibetan bells, painting, henna decorations and the chance to create your own dream catchers. It will also be possible to participate in a very special African music workshop, organized by the Slovenian crew Bokademia.

The traditional Overjam University will host two sessions. Friday 16th will focus on sustainable and eco friendly businesses, the use of hemp and its derived products with guest Ziggi Earthwide.  On Saturday 17th it’s all about UK Sound System culture and its social impact from the West Indian Windrush generation from the 50’s to the gentfrication era today.

The festival’s commitment to the environment will be applied via the use of recyclable and biodegradable materials and a wide range of vegan food. In addition, here is the  option of renting a ‘Kartent’, already assembled and ready to enter, 100% recyclable and fully prepared to resist the sun and rain.

As always, the festival will take place in a spectacular location. The site is nestled at the meeting of the Soča and Tolminka rivers, near the Triglav National Park, a few kilometers from Trieste and Ljubljana.

Both full festival tickets (€ 100 + commission) and daily tickets (€ 39 + commission), including camping, are on sale at the Mhshop website. Children aged up to 12 enter free, as well as carers for disabled people. There is a  €30 discount on the total price when purchasing 4 passes together. Limited places are still available for the Comfort Area upgrade. The upgrade includes access to the Indoor Comfort area with enhanced WiFi, comfort bar, indoor toilets, direct access to the main stage, parking and access to the festival very close to the city center. The camping area and ticket offices will open on Wednesday 14 August.
